Reconnecting with what has been true all along!

This summer has been one of reconnecting. A relationship that shaped my formative years, gave me character, helped me discover my beginning quest for truth, loved me unconditionally and always told me I was more than I ever thought I could be, came back full circle after years of silence. In addition, Kurt and I closed a chapter on a 5 year journey. We cleared over 100K of previous medical debt that was the result of the seizure disorder that I was miraculously healed from by God in 2011. We also grew in and through some very uncomfortable situations. Together we found life and we saw death first hand in the home we just moved out of and we found ourselves blessed beyond measure because God’s perspective has overwhelmed us both with joy.

As I woke up this morning, on the dawn of my 36th birthday, I couldn’t help but reflect on all the ways these little pieces of the puzzle are the Trinity’s way of pulling us into the fullness of relationship that we have all been born out of and into.

This last weekend I knocked on the door of “Coaches” house. Coach was my freshman and sophomore English teacher. As she turned the corner and we physically saw each other for the first time in 9 years, because we currently live hundreds of miles apart. It was as if there was absolutely no time gap since we had last seen each other. The familiarity, comfort, love and vulnerability hadn’t changed even though we hadn’t “worked” at maintaining our friendship. In fact, our relationship continued to grow so beautifully despite any effort on either one of our parts. It was simply because it has been there since our very first encounter. I believe today that this is how it is with the trinity.

As I sift through the relationships in my life the strongest, safest most secure are and have always been the ones that just “fit”, no questions asked from the very first encounter. It’s like a magnet locked from the start.

I am blessed that I have a steady handful of people that continue to mirror back what relationship with the Godhead looks like. Humanity is taught a system of steps, goals, concepts or ideas about “how to get to…”, God just says, be. Be who I created you to be. Be the masterpiece that you are and be loved, accepted, complete, content, safe and secure and fulfilled knowing that. “In that day you will know that just as I am in my Father, you are in me and I am in you! Whoever resonates and treasures the completeness of my prophetic purpose cannot but fall in love with me and also find themselves to be fully participating in my Father’s love and I will love this one and make myself distinctly known and real to each one individually. In this embrace of inseparable union love rules!” -John 14:20-21 MB

Love is the driving force of all things good. By beginning to experience that love we begin to feed from the tree of life. When our hearts and minds are guarded in what has been true all along, lives begin to change. His life is manifested out of and through all of His creation. Sometimes it’s hard for us to believe, but God is madly in love with each and every one of us. Even when it has been years since you felt or pursued a connection with Him. The truth is this, connection has always been from the foundation of the world. His breath is your breath, His life is your life and He is fully committed to lavish love on you, embrace you and overwhelm you with the reality of who you are in Him

“Love is not about defending a point of view; even if I am prepared to give away everything I have and die a martyr’s death; love does not have to prove itself by acts of supreme devotion or self-sacrifice! Love is large in being passionate about life and relentlessly patient in bearing the offenses and injuries of others with kindness. Love is completely content and strives for nothing. Love has no desire to make others feel inferior and has no need to sing its own praises. Love is predictable and does not behave out of character. Love is not ambitious. Love is not spiteful and gets no mileage out of another’s mistakes. Love sees no joy in injustice. Love’s delight is in everything that truth celebrates. Love is a fortress where everyone feels protected rather than exposed! Love’s persuasion is persistent! Love believes. Love never loses hope and always remains constant in contradiction.” -1 Corinthians 3:7 MB

We all are created out of love, in love, and for love. Nothing defines who we are better than love. Love is the bond that holds us together changes our perspective and sets us free to live and enjoy life. God the Father has always loved us, the Spirit echo’s Her words in our hearts, empathizing how much we are loved by Her, our Father and our husband Jesus who came to bring His bride out of the darkness and back into the light.

Love has no conditions and when we pour this love on people in our life we show to the best of our ability the love of the Trinity. A few weeks ago Kurt posted on Facebook “I believe everyone is going to spend eternity in peace, love, and joy.” The feedback was interesting. Many loved it, but there were those that got very upset. The ones who loved it felt a sense of peace in there heart and those who didn’t like it appear to come from a theological belief that portrays a God who only likes some and wants to torture others. This difference in belief often causes division and arguments between family and friends.

“The entire cosmos is the object of God’s affection! And he is not about to abandon his creation -the gift of his son is for humanity to realize their origin in him who mirrors their authentic birth -begotten not of flesh but of the Father! In this persuasion the life of the ages echoes within the individual and announces that the days of regret and sense of lost-ness are over!” -John 3:16

When we are not sure if God loves all of mankind, fear and doubt reaches the inner most part of our heart. God’s light begins to be overshadowed because of the anxiety this belief causes. However, when we come to the end of this road, and begin to realize God is love, and He has loved us and everyone else from the foundation of the world His light expels the darkness caused by fear and doubt.

This simple post on Facebook ended up reminding us of how very important it is to continue to share the Gospel with every one we meet. This doesn’t mean to preach at them about Jesus or even the things He did. This means to meet people in love, acceptance, and respect, right where they are. To do what “Coach” did for me when I needed to know love.

“The voice God has in Christ he now has in us; we are God’s ambassadors. Our lives exhibit the urgency of God to persuade everyone to realize the reconciliation of their redeemed identity.” -2 Corinthians 5:20 MB. The redeemed identity is everyone is perfect just the way they are.

You are Perfect just the Way you Are!

In love,

Katy & Kurt
