We are not under the Law of Moses!

If I were to ask 10 believers in Jesus if we have any Commandments in the New Covenant, most would answer “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength. And Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Mark 12:30-31 NLT)This sounds correct and surely would be a wonderful accomplishment if anyone other than Jesus could do it. Jesus also said there is “no greater commandment than these.” (Also See Matthew 22:36-40 NLT)If you could do these than you could live up to the Mosaic Law, and follow all the 613 Levitical rules the Jews put on themselves to prove they were worthy of God’s favor and blessings. But, Jesus wasn’t telling us what law we needed to live up to. He was merely answering the question as to what the greatest commandment of the Mosaic Law is. “One of the teachers of religious law was standing there listening to the debate. He realized that Jesus had answered well, so he asked, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?” (Mark 12:28 (NLT)

To some, this topic seems to be unimportant, but to me it is paramount! A simple misunderstanding of these scriptures continues to keep many under the same bondage the Israelites lived under. The good news is simple. We have been set free from the 10 Commandments…ALL of them. Jesus didn’t come and eliminate 8 of the 10 Laws or 611 or the 613 rules. He eliminated the entire system. When he fulfilled all the laws and rules on the Cross, we were all born into a New Covenant upon His resurrection from Hell.

Jesus is the way, the truth, and the entire world’s key to lasting freedom. God was never mad with mankind. Jesus came to abolish wrong belief. God has always been pleased with mankind, and the enemy of wrong belief has been tormenting His creation from the foundation of the world. God is pleased with you whether you profess Jesus, or doubt His existence. This is the Glory of the Savior for all mankind. He wiped out the Mosaic Covenant for the Jew’s salvation! He rose from the dead to end the curse Adam and Eve received for all of mankind when they ate from the tree of Good and Evil. His victory for the entire world’s freedom was a price only He could pay. He trumped Adam and Eve’s poker hand, and won the jackpot for all, Jews and the rest of the world have been saved, all are equal and all are His children.

“Jesus is what God believes about you! In him the righteousness of God is on display in such a way that everyone may be equally persuaded about what God believes about them, regardless of who they are; there is no distinction.” (Romans 3:22 MBT)

“We are now in His Grace and Mercy and are no longer captive to a wrong belief system that ultimately leads to bad behavior. “The law failed to be anything more than an instruction manual; it had no power to deliver us from the strong influence of sin (wrong belief) holding us hostage in our own bodies. God disguised himself in his son in this very domain where sin ruled us, in flesh. The body he lived and conquered in was no different to ours. Thus sin’s authority in the human body was condemned.” (Romans 8:2 MBT)

God’s love for you reigns and will never leave you. This is the message of assurance….for all are saved, righteous, perfect, and holy through the death and resurrection of Jesus. It doesn’t matter what kind of mess you’re in, what mess you were in, or what mess you might end up in! The unconditional love of the Trinity for you doesn’t change. In the Old Testament it was said that there would come a time when the law would be written on our hearts. “But this is the new covenant I will make with the people of Israel after those days,” says the LORD. “I will put my instructions deep within them, and I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.” (Jeremiah 31:33 NLT) “The law of his God is on your heart.” (Psalms 37:31a AMP) The Apostle Paul later on wrote to new believer’s how this had been fulfilled for all of mankind. “The law is so much more than a mere written code; its presence in human conscience even in the absence of the written instruction is obvious, condemning or commending personal conduct.” (Romans 2:15 MBT)

“To go back to the very beginning is to find the Word already present there; face to face with God. The Word is I am; God’s eloquence echoes and concludes in him. The Word equals God. The beginning mirrors the Word face to face with God. The Logos is the source; everything commences in him. He remains the exclusive Parent reference to their existence. There is nothing original, except the Word! The Logic of God defines the only possible place where humankind can trace their genesis. His life is the light that defines our lives.” (John 1:1-4 MBT)

Love defines the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. The light of their love conquers all darkness, and shakes fear to its core. Love is the Gospel, and it’s all about their Love for all of mankind. It is not about us earning their love, or proving we are good enough. He created us in His image, and His image is perfect. We were all born out of the Trinity’s other centered love.

We have a Father who will never leave or forsake us. He believes in us so much that He gave His Son as the final sacrifice for a system built on self-effort that was doomed for failure from the beginning. The Israelites were chosen to show the entire world the need for a savior. And our loving Father gave the gift for our reconciliation. “And thus we have come to know and believe the LOVE that God has unveiled within us. God is love; love is who God is; to live in this place of conscious, constant love, is to live immersed in God and to feel perfectly at home in his indwelling.” (1 John 4:16 MBT)

We have a husband who will never divorce us. We are the bride of Christ. He is perfectly in Love with us. We are in the honey moon phase for eternity. He serves our heart and souls with pure amazing love. He resembles our Father, and He is our Lover. All of mankind was born a new into our husbands resurrection. “Now, in the light of your co-inclusion in his death and resurrection, whoever you thought you were before, in Christ you are a brand new person! The old ways of seeing yourself and everyone else are over. Acquaint yourself with the new!” (2 Corinthians 5:17 MBT)

We have a mother in the Holy Spirit who will always be with us. She will always uplift us. She only reminds us how perfect we are. She will comfort us when we need it. She will wrap herself around us when we need her shield. She will forever reside in us. “The original life of the Father revealed in his son is the life the Spirit now conducts within us. Slavery is such a poor substitute for son-ship! They are opposites; the one leads forcefully through fear while son-ship responds fondly to Abba Father. His Spirit resonates within our spirit to confirm the fact that we originate in God. Because we are his offspring, we qualify to be heirs; God himself is our portion, we co-inherit with Christ. Since we were represented and included in his suffering we equally participate in the glory of his resurrection.” (Romans 8:14-17 MBT)

When Jesus told the disciples to wait for the power in Acts 1, he was telling them to wait for the Spirit because she will convince you of the Father’s unconditional love for you. The power is not the Holy Spirit, even though she helps remind us of it. The power is knowing you are LOVED. The law is Love, and Love never fails! The Law of Moses is not in play over any of the world today. We are bound and secured in the Love of the Trinity. “It is an insult to the grace of God to prefer Moses to Jesus! If the law could justify you then Jesus wasted his time dying your death!” (Galatians 2:21 MBT)

Freedom comes when we rest in the love that never fails. This is not our Love of God, which, if we are honest, has wavered and most likely will waver again. Believing in God is not the same thing as knowing the character of God. The character of the Trinity is love and light. A love we cannot fathom and a light that expels all the darkness wrong beliefs produce. Knowing this is the true representation of the entire Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) removes all fear.

“Become fully acquainted with his gift in you, there is nothing timid about it; the dynamic of a mind liberated in the spirit of LOVE is fearless and unstoppable.” (2 Timothy 1:7 MBT)

“Love is not defined by our love for God, but by his love for us! It is not our response to God that attracts his attention; we have always had his undivided affection as declared in the prophetic promise and finally demonstrated in his Son’s commission and work of atonement for our sins.” (1 John 4:10 MBT)

With Love,

Kurt & Katy
