When we hear “If the Son sets you free, you are truly free. ” John 8:36 What is our reaction? Do we get overwhelmed by situations in our life and question if we really are free? Are we overwhelmed with physical ailments, mental anguish or emotional turmoil?  Do we feel distant in our intimate relationships? With so many things are happening in the world.  It’s hard not to get blindsided with fear, or put up walls around ourselves to make sure we never get hurt. 

Many of us, are able to quote scriptures with the hopes that our situation will be different. We sometimes spend hours in prayer grasping for God’s favor to come crashing down in our life. We all have been overwhelmed with life at some point and for a long time I just thought “thank God for salvation and eternity, ” because we are supposed to stuggle on earth. It seemed I was just waiting for that sweet bye and bye. I could quote scriptures pertainly to our glory now and forever, but I didn’t understand the now part. Man was I confused by the wrong tree in the garden. Jesus set us free to reign as his brides not wither with the fig tree. 

We have been set free by the lamb of God to live from “Glory to Glory” (2 Corinthians 3:18) This is the good news and more it has resonated in my heart the more free I have become. In Christ we are permanently forgiven, completely righteous, forever saved, part of the royal family, and loved with out conditions. We don’t need to work steps,  attend men’s or women’s bible studies, or serve at church to be free. All we need to do is believe the goood news of who we are, and His unmerited favor and kindness will set us free, because whom the Son Set free is free indeed. 

You can permanently rest in the finished work of Jesus, because He wasn’t lying when He said, “It is finished.” (John 19:30) Jesus set us free from the old work based mentality that Cain suffered with as well. For God’s love for you is never ending and the relationship with Him is based on His pure unwavering love for you. You are seated with Him in high places now and forever.  You don’t have to earn his favor. You are already in the kingdom of light as His beloved child. The freedom you have in him is better  than you could ever think, ask, or imagine. God’s Love is infinite beyond worldly measures and His love is your guarantee of great things and freedom from physical ailments, mental anguish, and emotional turmoil! 

Heavenly Father, we thank you for no greater Love. Thank you, that Jesus paid the ultimate price to redeem us back into your family. Thank you, that whatever may be going on in all our lives, we can feed on the freedom you gave us. Thank you, that no weapon formed against us will ever prosper and that your peace and joy flows from our hearts with overwelming light that all the world will see. We praise you for giving us all,  our individual hearts desires. In Jesus name, amen.
